Minimum 4 people required to host the workshop. In the unlikely instance of the minimum number not being met, a full refund will be provided. Due to the nature of the workshop, refunds outside of this are not provided.
This is not a casual workshop. It’s a deep studio immersion designed for artists who want to strengthen their practice, refine their technique, and create work with real presence.
Over three immersive days, you’ll work closely with Thomas Bucich, exploring two approaches to sculpture:
Lost-Wax Bronze Sculpting
Learn the classical process used by master sculptors for centuries — building forms in wax that will later be cast in bronze.
Direct Plaster Sculpture
A faster, more expressive method that encourages instinct, gesture, and bold experimentation with form and texture.
You’ll move confidently between precision and spontaneity, creating original works in wax and plaster, ready for bronze casting after the intensive.
Southern Highlands, NSW | $1,150 incl. all materials
Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 10:00AM – 4:00PM each day
Limited to a small group – Booking essential
Direct Plaster Sculpting
Build sculptural forms from armatures to expressive surfaces
Learn to work intuitively and confidently with fast-setting plaster
Explore texturing, layering, and finishing techniques
Leave with a dynamic completed work or study
Lost Wax Bronze Sculpting
Sculpt directly in wax with guidance on balance, structure & technique
Learn the fundamentals of lost wax casting
Discover how to produce one-off wax forms for bronze
Your completed wax sculpture can be professionally cast by Crawfords Casting (optional, starting from $250)
What you’ll gain:
This is about more than learning technique.
You’ll experience:
• Personal, hands-on mentorship
• Clear guidance tailored to your direction
• Focused studio time without distraction
• Real momentum — not just inspiration
